One is limited in their ability to describe & decipher reality according to two variables: the knowledge and understanding of their reality, and a language that is mature enough (complex enough) to describe in accurate detail. Immediately one can (should) be able to see that these two variables are synergistic; that they can feed into each other, and often do. Not unlike the mind and the body. Yin and Yang.
Therefore, language has to evolve, in lock-step, with society. As society grows more and more complex & specialized, so too must the language. So… if this is the case, then why not revisit the religions of olde? It seems perfectly reasonable to expect that older languages would not be capable of accurately capturing concepts as well as the languages of today. Pretty self-evident to me anyway.
Then… if we consider how complex adaptive systems can be representative of a human body, or the economy of the planet, or our solar system, or the universe itself… and how much they mirror the activity of an intelligence… of a grand system…
Is it not possible that this is precisely what these individuals & groups were attempting to elucidate all of those centuries, millennia, ago? That the grand CAS of the universe is God. Think about it… all of the information matters, the network itself; made up of the connected nodes or “cells” of the complex adaptive system, sees and knows all. After all, all points in space and time are connected.
What the system produces is also technically of intelligent design, as balance is — and will — be maintained by such corrective forces as gravity and natural selection. And these designs can technically be termed “of God’s image” as God would be the complex adaptive system itself. Making her/him not some omnipotent individual, but a self-sustaining network.
Is it not at least… plausible?
Fascinating brother. Mind bending. Love your writing. Keep it up, the world needs your thoughts.
