We Only Need To F*ck This Up One Thing — ESG.
It should be of no surprise that the globalists ideologies that brought China into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in December of 2001 with the prospects of economic gains of globalization, are the very same ideals that are pushing the world beyond their utility and into dissolution. Western society continues to attempt to charge full-steam-ahead with emission-centric virtue signaling; choosing ignorance with regards that their strategies cost more hydrocarbon input than those mechanisms they claim superiority over.
All of modern society today needs heavy hydrocarbon supplementation and will need more if we are to make it to the next level of technological advancement, whatever form that may take.
In the EU, Germany is under pressure that will not take much more to become overwhelming. Farmers across the Netherlands, and those farmers that have answered the call to muster across Europe (Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain), are proving to possess the only backbones and heads of sound rationale in all of Europe. France is under plenty of pressure themselves being both the military power as well as the nuclear power. Italy is eroding, as Davos has forced Draghi to stick around longer than he desires while his country risks buckling under the pressure of their debt burden.
Russia and Ukraine has already popped-off causing a squelching of oil & natural gas flows into Europe. To the credit of Tom Luongo, the most logical strategy for Russia would certainly appear to be to refuse easing off the gas of his invasion until Odessa is hoisting Russian flags; giving Putin control over the Black Sea and the Dniper River. Which would add controls of major maritime trade routes for Eastern Europe to his warchest that already includes his resources of gold, oil, natural gas, and firepower. And with winter just around the corner, and his iron grip on the balls of Europe (most importantly Germany) Putin has quite literally all of the power in EurAsia. With tensions continuing to ratchet up between Saudi Arabia, Iran and Israel looking to be right on the heels of contagious kinetic conflict. Not to mention the saber rattling between China & Taiwan; only contributing further to the hydrocarbon shortages and trade constrictions the world over.
What would behoove the United States of America (and thus the title of this essay) would be to shift our sight-picture of strategy away from Europe and toward our immediate neighbors of Canada and Mexico, as well as our distant neighbors of Central and South America.
We should be pushing to improve trade relations with-, as well as increasing trade with our fellow Americans. If the Americas were to “Marvel team-up” I imagine we could establish a significant foothold of hydrocarbon trade dominance as well as expand and iterate upon agricultural and livestock trade in manners which actually make sense. What I mean by this is NOT shipping American beef elsewhere, and NOT so strongly relying upon importing Brazilian beef. If the Americas were to begin primarily with energy trade and securing each other, we could open up the flood gates of innovation and infrastructure that could improve the lives of citizens across Central & South America — easing pressure off the illegal immigration problem at the United States’ southern border. Not to mention this marriage would allow for providing security with MUCH greater ease and efficiency than our abysmal “defense” of the Middle East for the last 20–30 years.
The USA has made significant blunders in strategy and public relations as of late, and we will have a significant test of capability working to amend those blunders in Central and South America, but it is strategically necessary. We can continue to “burn” capital on the Ukrainian front (I put burn in quotations because I tend to believe the actual flow of capital is not trying to effect change on the military front, simply to launder political money)… or we can be intelligent.
Oil and gas has been the reason humanity has progressed to where we are today. And considering that we haven’t found an economical (aka efficient) compound to provide such effective goods, like computers and plastics, as hydrocarbons… THEN WE NEED MORE OIL AND GAS.
Environmentalists and socialist weep and rage against this reality.
I say let them.
Let them beat their own heads against the figurative concrete wall (which was with oil; oh the poetic synchronism). The world, and the United States of America need the oil and the gas to flow, which has not had adequate investment in infrastructure.
We have a lot of work to do, and before that can begin we need the fools amongst the citizenry to realize, and understand, their failures in electing officials that lack the real world insight and understanding necessary to avoid calamity. Which I am confident that a disgusting portion of current sitting members of the Senate do not possess.
If mid-terms and the 2024 election are not met with a significant wave of red, be prepared for difficulty to last for many, many years in the United States.
